Jaw bone can resorb after tooth removal due to wound healing and a missing chewing strain. In most cases dental implants cannot be placed without further effort due to resorption. There are different options in oral surgery to counteract or rebuild the missing bone volume. Together we discuss the possibilities in our dental practice in Berlin-Zehlendorf including the use of 3D imaging (CBCT). It is necessary to determine which volume rebuilding technique is the best in each case and to be able to place implants even more precisely to receive an accurate and predictable result. Bone augmentation techniques are common in implantology. They require expertise and surgical experience.
